Jean CARZOU real name Zouloumian Karnik, born in Aleppo (Syria) on January 1, 1907 and died in Périgueux (Dordogne) August 12, 2000 (93 years), is a painter, printmaker and designer French of Armenian origin. In 1977 CARZOU himself drew his sword academician before joining ACADEMY of Fine Art, in the chair of Jean Bouchaud.  Fierce criticism laxity of modern society in general, and Cubism in particular, he believes that PICASSO was "a personality that does not paint"

After a long career as a painter, printmaker and theater decorator, he had launched old now 83, in a gigantic Apocalypse which he had adorned the walls of the Church of the Presentation in Manosque (Alpes-de Haute-Provence, France). Not a literal illustration of the Apocalypse of  St. -Jean but "the climate of our time" populated of devastated horizons, of misty ships entanglement of rails and blockhouses reflecting his obsession with war and the Holocaust, first, to his people by the Turks. He has done a superb portrait of woman tree with  "Madonna" face, delivering the world an eternal Message of humanity.
